Yoga Club

The Science Olympiad is a nation-wide science competition. A team of students will compete in events about biology, engineering, astronomy, geology, environmental science, forensics, and disease. Events require teams to build, perform labs, or take tests in up to 20 events. Our regional competition is January and the state finals are in March. Some prep may have to be done outside of our meeting times.

This club meets once a week creating fun activities revolving around animals in our community. We also have animals come in to visit.

All coders, programmers, engineers and makers are invited to join the Coding Club. At our meetings, we will code games, design in 3D environments and make videos and graphic designs. Club members will get feedback on their ideas to improve their creations and build their coding and designing skills.

 

Archery Club

MPR

The Archery Club is designed for all 7th and 8th grade students interested in target archery. Participants use the standard competition Genesis bow for shooting. The rules of the range are strictly enforced with standardized whistle commands that must be utilized to ensure the safety of everyone involved. Previous experience is not required. We can teach you how to shoot and score your round.

 

MAD4Kids Club

MAD4Kids is a club created by kids for kids. The main objective of this club is to increase global awareness and sensitize Wyckoff students about the plight of less fortunate children locally and around the globe. Students then decide the steps they need to take in order to make the world a better place.

 

ReAct Club

ReAct is a student-led service organization in which students donate their time and raise money for important causes. Annual activities include a car wash for the Wyckoff Fire Department, a holiday visit to the Christian Health Care Center and an after-school party for children who visit us from Oasis in Paterson.

STEM Lab

A club where girls can explore their interested in science, practice design and create with confidence. Girls will be given a chance to take leadership positions, grow as learners and make new friends. Activities may include STEM challenges, 3D printing and more.

Café

Students learn how to start their own business and become an entrepreneur. The Club consists of six workshops and a marketplace where the students will sell their products. Wednesdays are for new members and Thursdays are for returning members.

Do you like a challenge? Do you leave math class constantly craving more? Join our mathletes to train for the Mathcounts competition, solve brain teasers or collaborate on puzzles. In this club, you will be able to experience fun and challenging math problems that promote problem solving, teamwork and critical-thinking skills. Celebrate the beauty of math with other enthusiasts!

For students who are interested in world affairs and making a difference! Once a week after school, students will research and create proposals for real-world, global issues. They will learn how to write resolutions, work in committees, and form blocs in order to gain support for their plans, as well as understand committee etiquette and foster competitive spirit. Selected members will attend the International Middle School Model UN Conference in NYC at the end of March.

 

Movie Club

Club viewings of documentaries on different social issues, with the focus of kids who are making a difference in their communities. Topics will range from bullying, to STEM, to autism, etc...The topics tackled in the documentary movies can open kids' eyes and encourage discussion. Students will then choose a cause to address and work for betterment within the Wyckoff community.

 

Percussion Ensemble

Room 108

Percussion Ensemble is a group that would allow percussion students to further their playing abilities in a small group setting while also allowing non-percussion students the opportunity to explore different and new instruments. Students will be assigned 1-2 pieces to play and rehearse once a week. This will culminate in the final meeting which will be a recording session of the pieces.

 

Photography Club

STEM Lab/304

Learn basic and advanced Photography techniques. Join us as we take photos in and around the school. In addition, we will learn basic and advanced photo editing and "photoshopping" skills. All levels of photographers can join. Cameras will be provided or you can bring your own. Your photos could be used on the school website, ETV, the hallway displays and the school yearbook.
