Pay-to-Participate Sports Program

https://www.payforit.net/

Students who try out for and make a sports team will be required to pay a one-time only, $150 interscholastic sports activity fee. This one-time fee would cover a student's participation in multiple sports, if applicable. Please know that, per state regulation and board policy, physicals and the advance submission of required sports forms are still required in order for any student to try out for interscholastic sports at Eisenhower MS.

Tryouts/practice will be from 3:05 PM and run until 4:15-4:30 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. We start on time with no indoor breaks during practice, so make sure to take care of the following before you arrive:

  • appropriate clothing for the weather
  • water bottle with your name on it
  • bathroom

Commitment

Track is a two and a half-month commitment and your teammates depend on you every day. If you will be late to practice or need to leave early from practice, you need to email your coach ahead of time. Multiple absences need to be discussed with the coaches and may result in ineligibility for meets or dismissal from the team.

Practices

Practices are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays every week. Practice will start at 3:05 PM in the gym and end between 4:15 and 4:30 PM.

Dress Code

Team members are expected to wear running shoes/sneakers, shorts, and a t-shirt for practices. We will run outside in all types of weather. For the first few weeks, depending on the temperature, you may want to wear sweats. You must bring your own water bottle with your name on it to all practices & meets. Once practice starts, there are no bathroom breaks and limited water breaks except for in extreme heat, so come hydrated and prepared.

Important Information

Track and field is open to all seventh and eighth grade boys and girls. Academics comes first. You will need to learn to prioritize your commitments. If you need to miss practice or a meet, please let your coach know ahead of time as soon as possilbe.

Meets

You must wear matching uniforms at meets. In the event of cold weather, you may wear a white shirt and black tights or Under Armor pants under your uniform. Meet officials have been known to disqualify competitors (especially relay teams) for non-matching uniforms.

Meets start by 4:00 PM and end around 6:00 PM. Allow an extra 30-60 minutes for the bus to return to EMS around 6:30 -7:00PM. Students can call or text their rides home with updated arrival times. Parents/Guardians should notify the coaches in writing prior to the start of the meet if their child is not returning to the school on the bus.

**Please see host school websites for driving directions to meets.
