Check out the February Newsletter created by our special area teachers which highlights instruction and activities during January!
Coolidge School students will join students from around the world in Global School Play Day on Friday, February 7th. On this day, students will spend time engaging in unstructured play for a part of the day. 5th-grade students will have more of a full-day experience. Your child’s teacher will contact you with more specific information for the day. We are excited about this great learning opportunity for our students to develop their social skills, innovation, and creativity through play.
On Friday we came together as a school community for our January Schoolwide Meeting. After a fun game of “Just Like Me”, our Student Council Executive Board shared information about our upcoming Food Drive. Let’s work together to support those in need in our surrounding community. Of course, we ended our time together singing “Happy Birthday” and “Cougar Pride”.
Message from Mr. Cosman regarding this week’s school musical rehearsals: Check out the updated February Calendar for this week's upcoming musical rehearsal schedule. Contact Mr. Cosman if you have any questions or refer to his email.

MESSAGE FROM OUR SCHOOL HEALTH OFFICE
We are in the peak of cold and flu season and have seen an increase in cases at Coolidge in the past several weeks. There are times when your child may be sick and needs to stay home. If your child does become sick, please allow them to recover at home.
Here are some guidelines for you to follow. Please keep your child home if they have:
A temperature of 100 degrees or above. They must be fever-free for 24 hours without medication before returning to school.
Flu-like symptoms: fever, runny nose, cough, aches. Please keep your child home until you see significant improvement.
Vomited in the past 24 hours or has severe nausea, stomach pains, or diarrhea.
A persistent, productive cough.
A red, painful throat or swollen glands on the side of the neck.
If you keep your child home when their immune system is compromised they will be able to recover more quickly and be less likely to contract other illnesses. Please encourage your child to wash their hands often, especially after using the bathroom and before eating. By working together we can help prevent the spread of germs and illness at school.
KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION
Please share this announcement with any families you might know who are new to the Coolidge Community. Kindergarten registration for the 2025-2026 school year is now open. If your child is ready to start their educational journey this fall, please visit our website for details and enrollment instructions.
VALENTINE’S DAY
Valentine’s Day will be approaching shortly. As a reminder, food or goody bags are not permitted to be brought into school to be shared with classmates. Students in grades K-3 typically give a card to each classmate (be sure there is a card for each child in the class). No food may be attached to the cards but, if you want, students may attach a simple non-edible item such as a sticker or a pencil. Students in grades 4-5 do not exchange cards in school but teachers celebrate the holiday with their students in different ways.
