Dear Sicomac Families
Another amazing week is in the books. Highlights included 5th grade musical auditions and teachers all homeroom teachers engaging in mid-year data meetings to continue targeting instructional support for all of our students. Our incredible teachers will continue districtwide professional development on Monday while our students get the day off. We were also so grateful for the strong parent participating at our January PTO meeting, which featured an informative presentation by our Reading Specialist, Mrs. Amanda Harrington. She shared valuable insights into reading strategies used at school and practical tips families can use at home.
There is so much to look forward to as we move into the second half of the school year.
NJSLA Testing Dates (Grades 3-5)
Please mark your calendars for the New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA) for students in grades 3-5. We kindly ask families to avoid scheduling appointments or time away from school during these testing windows whenever possible.
All assessments will begin after morning meeting at approximately 9:15am and conclude around 11:15am.
ELA: May 6 & 7
Math: May 12-14
Science (Grade 5 only): TBD
Family Connection Series Presentation
The next Family Connection Series presentation will take place on Tuesday 2/3/26 at 7:00pm at Eisenhower Middle School. The session, titled Raising Resilience, will explore what resilience is, the factors that contribute to it, and how parents can support and strengthen resilience in their children. Kindergarten registration for the 2026-2027 school year is now open. If your child is ready to begin their educational journey this fall, please visit the district website for registration details and enrollment instructions.
